Jennifer + Jill + Austin Engagement Photography

I adore documenting love - because they are often oblivious that I am there!

Jennifer + Jill drove all the way from Houston to (among other wedding activities) have me document their love story, to share with the world.  I've known Jennifer since 2011 when she asked me to photograph her youngest, for his senior portraits. We recognized a kindred connection that day, and soon became the best of friends.  I am so very happy to say, that it is with the utmost privilege and joy, that I get to witness Jennifer and Chris (aka Jill) so deeply in love and friendship, that they have decided it's time to spend the rest of their lives in each other's arms. It is truly amazing to document this love!

When planning their session, I asked them to bring things that represented them as a couple. They brought along a sweet book called "A Lovely Love Story" about two dinosaurs that fell in love, a sweet infinity sign that Chris had painted for Jennifer, and a bouquet of bright sunflowers to represent the autumn theme of their approaching destination wedding in Marble Falls, Texas.

Jennifer is a lover of all things nature and trees - so we planned a walk in the enchanted forest near the studio in South Austin. Chris is a over of all things football - so we planned a colorful set amongst the bluebonnets wearing their favorite Texans football jerseys.

Together they stand on the hill, telling each other stories and feeling the warmth of the sun on their backs. And that, my friends, is how it is with love

If you look closely, you will see that Jennifer's engagement ring is also an infinity.

As the sun began to set, it was time to make our way over to the bluebonnet fields. Texas bluebonnets are the most beautiful indigo and white colors rarely seen in the floral world. For those of you who have never seen them, they bloom for about two weeks each spring and people love to have pictures made in them. This was where we made our "save the date" statement - as well as where I nearly lost it over spider! We were granted a beautiful golden sunset as we wrapped up our session with some fun editorial style images, and of course - the rock star look.

He asked. She said, of course! October, 14th, 2017 - Heart of Texas Ranch, Marble Falls at sunset
